Contribution Points
About Titan Network Contribution Points
Titan Network Contribution Points serve as one of the incentive mechanisms designed to reward contributions made to the Titan Network ecosystem.
Titan Network Contribution Points leverage the RetroPGF (Retroactive Public Goods Funding) assessment model. This ensures that all eligible contributors receive fair recognition and incentives through the points system. These points function as a retroactive reward mechanism. Titan Contribution Points will be exchangeable for mainnet tokens when the mainnet goes live. We have created a special, physical, limited-edition Contribution Points Thank-You Card specifically for this purpose.
The time a contribution is made and the number of points awarded will be recorded. The value of the earned Contribution Points is calculated based on the project's valuation at the time of contribution. All contribution points will equitably increase in value as the project progresses and grows.
What is RetroPGF?
RetroPGF stands for Retroactive Public Goods Funding. The core concept is not to predict in advance who will make valuable contributions, but rather to evaluate and reward contributions after they have actually occurred and demonstrably generated value.
This implies:
Rewards are Retroactive (Retroactive reward points): Instead of pre-defining tasks and rewards, the system encourages individuals to contribute to the network first.
Value Assessment (RetroPGF assessment model): After contributions have been made, the network assesses the actual value and impact these past contributions have delivered.
Fair Recognition (Ensures all eligible contributors...receive fair recognition and incentives): Based on the assessment results, fair rewards are distributed to those who have genuinely made valuable contributions. Anyone can apply to receive contribution recognition based on their achievements.
In simple terms, RetroPGF operates on a principle of "contribute first, get rewarded later." It acknowledges that true value is often difficult to predict beforehand and can only be assessed accurately and fairly once the results are evident. This model aims to incentivize actions that genuinely provide a positive impact on the ecosystem, even if those actions were not explicitly commissioned or promised a reward in advance.
